From Claire in NY:
The ribbons arrived around 7 PM last night. What a pleasure not having to cut and tip the ribbons. All I had to do was just pin. Brooklyn South Police will be picking up their red/white/blue ribbons this morning.
Your ribbons will be everywhere!!
Besides using the red/white/blue ribbons at our own memorial service. Some of the red/white/blue ribbons will be used at a funeral for one of the firefighter on 9/9. All the family has to bury of him is a tube of blood that he donated for bone marrow testing.
The purple ribbons with both finest and bravest are perfect for Chief Fox. The Police Department lost 23 officers and Chief Fox also lost a nephew who was a firefighter. I know he will really appreciate them.
The purple ribbons with the bravest will be used by the several fire houses that are having memorials for those they lost. One house located in downtown Manhattan lost 14 firefighters, We will also use the ribbons when the City dedicates the street corner outside one of the firefighter's parents home, which is right across the street from our church.
I've also sent some of the ribbons to friends in California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, DC and Indiana.
Thanks again for all you help!!!!
From Claire in Brooklyn, NY:
Thanks for responding so quickly. Your has been busy so figured email
was the best way to get in touch with you. Please print "Forever .....
In Our Hearts" on the red, white and blue wide ribbon in the 2 color
(3 rolls). If you don't have the wide then the narrow. For the
purple ribbon please print 100 yard roll " In memory of NYC's .....
Bravest" , with the little gold flag after bravest (firefighters).
So just like what you sent me minus the finest (cops).
I can't believe I've made almost 2500 of the red, white and blue
ribbons already with a few more to go. I not even going to guess on
how many yellow ribbons. It seemed so long ago when I ordered the ribbon and the
anniversary of 9/11 will be here in 4 weeks. And all the police
officers from Brooklyn South will be wearing their red/white/blue
ribbons on 9/11.
I sent 400 of the Support Our Troops and Pray for Out Troops ribbons
to Chief Fox. Everyone in his office is wearing them and the Precinct
Captain for the building called me to say thank you for ribbons. He
has 8 of his officers over in Iraq. So all of his command is wearing
your yellow ribbons.
The yellow bows with the red/white/blue ribbon trim that I sent you.
I use the scrap pieces of your ribbon that had united we stand on it.
I used the printed with the stars if it fit in, otherwise I just used
the unprinted side. Do you have any scrap pieces I can by from you if
not I need to order a roll of the ribbon either plain or just with the
gold stars. Let me know what you have.
I'll be starting vacation at the end of the month so just in case I'm
on vacation, please send the ribbon to send it to me at home.
